Very good use of texture, good leading bass rhythm. I like the use of sound over the underlying melody, it all fits together really well ! A new favorite

Thank you kindly (: Check out my other stuff on pretty much any streaming service

A bit muddy on the low end and the stereo imaging could be improved.

Great composition, great playing !

EDIT : LD-W seems to be taking my criticism a bit too harshly which isn't what I was aiming for, there's no bad feelings as I'm just rating what I'm listening to on the couch, which is an .mp3 file played through a web browser.
The song in itself is good, my point is that the groove between the bass & the kick drum is unnoticed and the brass/guitar sections were sitting too close to the middle and could use further panning, stereo imaging as to not clash with each other.
And excuse me, but I gave the song 4.5 stars, I don't have to justify in layman terms why I'm attributing that scoring.
But this is an ear thing, and it's my personal opinion, we don't all have the same preferences and it's okay, music mixing & mastering is and will always be a subjective thing.

Have a good day !

All good dude! Thank you for listening! :]

LD-W responds:

A mix update has been sent across containing some fixed-EQ + extra Dynamic EQ point inclusions, so that may be present on this upload soon

The only things which exist below-200hz in the track is the kick drum, bass guitar, and the bottom of the snare (and that's been further tamed via UA Bass-Mint's Anti-Rumble algorithm to assist with controlling it for multi-systems playback, at the cost of a small amount of low-end 'detailing' being sacrificed). The entire drum kit was provided to me to work on as just one stem, so this required an extensive chain of dynamic EQ'ing, two-stage compression (via Shadow Hills Class-A), and unmasking/targeted compression of the kick via SPL Vitalizer MK2-T under that circumstance (without also affecting the snare within the same stem). Under usual circumstances I would prefer to have the usual array of 10+ mic signals to go and work with on a kit, but we've made-do with what we've got in this circumstance. Bass Guitar was in a relatively unamped state when provided, so that's been re-amped through a Fender Bassman Amp/Cab combo to provide some extra body and general tone, and then also ran through another instance of Shadow Hills Class-A for control.

Saying "stereo imaging could be improved" as a message in your review on it's own without any further context is extremly unhelpful and serves to be more annoying than actually constructive. Which parts specifically, and in what ways?

EDIT: Now that the commenter has left an edit actually going into some level of depth instead of leaving a vague comment: that's what you should of posted in the first place, and I could of simply gone "thanks for the info, I'll cross-check on a third systems-setup and fix it later if possibly from the stems provided If I find what you say to be applicable" in response (also, explaining why I approached handling certain stems the way I did and overcoming the present limitation is not taking 'criticism a bit too harshly'). This has nothing to do with 'justifying in layman terms why he's attributing that scoring' as he seems to be implying, and significantly more to do with confronting another audio commenter who says something is apparently wrong and goes into no further detail about it, until actually pushed to do so. No one has to justify anything in terms of scoring, but reviews/comments are free to be given, and free to be questioned.

Really nice !

Surkol responds:

Thanks Burner! I can't make melodies like you but at least it’s something different

This is indeed a groovy time ! I really like the usage of double time in the middle of the song which acts as a breakdown, very funky and natural sounding drums as well. Good job !

This sounds really nostalgic, reminds me of a childhood I never had, probably 10 years before my actual birth. Good job, the mixing is well done too !

An auditory experiment in progress: we are explorers of sound, dismantling genre boundaries and weaving the unexpected. Eclecticism is our compass; curiosity is our guide.
